What is OCS?

Traceability from field to product

OCS — Organic Content Standard — verifies and traces organic material through the production chain. The standard documents how much organic content a product actually contains, and that the content can be followed from certified raw material to finished product.

The certification applies to selected styles in our range — not the entire collection. You can see which ones in the certificate documentation.

Relationship

OCS and GOTS — what is the difference?

OCS

Focuses solely on verifying and tracing the organic content of a product. Does not set requirements for chemicals, dyes or working conditions in production.

GOTS

Covers the entire production chain — from organic raw material to finished product — and sets requirements for chemicals, working conditions and environmental management at every stage.

What does the standard require?

4 core areas

Organic raw materials
The raw materials must be certified organic from approved producers. OCS 100 requires at least 95% organic content in the final product.
Chain traceability
Every link from field to finished product must be able to document the organic content. No link in the chain can bypass verification.
Third-party verification
All certificates are issued by accredited and independent bodies. No producer can declare OCS status on their own.
Labelling
OCS-certified products may only be labelled with the standard if the entire production chain is verified and active.
