What is OCS Blended?

Organic content — verified all the way

OCS — Organic Content Standard — is a certification standard that verifies and traces organic material through the production chain. The OCS Blended variant covers products with an organic content of between 5% and 100%, blended with conventional or synthetic materials.

It is not enough to claim an organic content — OCS Blended requires that the content can be documented and traced from the certified raw material to the finished product. Every link in the production chain must be approved by an independent third party.

For us, it is about honesty. Not all our products are made from 100% organic materials. OCS Blended allows us to document the organic content precisely as it is — without overstating it.

Two variants

OCS Blended and OCS 100

OCS comes in two variants covering different products depending on the organic content.

OCS Blended

Covers products with an organic content of at least 5%. Verifies and traces the organic content in blended products — documented honestly and precisely.

OCS 100

Requires at least 95% of the product to be organic. Used for products with a high organic content and sets the same requirements for traceability and verification.

What does the standard require?

Four core areas

Organic raw materials
The organic content must originate from certified organic producers. The content is precisely documented in the final product.
Chain traceability
Every link in the production chain must be able to document and carry forward the organic content. No one can bypass the chain without breaking the certification.
Third-party verification
All certificates are issued by accredited and independent bodies. No producer can declare OCS status on their own.
Precise labelling
The OCS Blended label may only be used on products if the entire production chain is verified and the organic content is correctly stated.
